About Us
Our mission is to promote interdisciplinary global education that brings together science, technology, health, and culture. By combining academic study with hands-on research, cultural immersion, and ethical reflection, we empower learners to think critically and act responsibly in a changing world.
We envision a new generation of thinkers, researchers, and professionals, across health, social, and technical-mathematical sciences, equipped with the insight, empathy, and tools to shape the future of global health and human well-being.
The Hellenic Center for Interdisciplinary Studies & Research (HCISR) designs and delivers interdisciplinary learning experiences in Greece that link science, culture, and civic engagement. Through study abroad programs, international research, and community partnerships, we explore how knowledge can serve real human needs, from health and inclusion to sustainability and ethical innovation.
As a nonprofit association, HCISR works with universities, educators, and civic organizations to design academic and social initiatives rooted in real-world contexts. Our goal is to cultivate curiosity, empathy, and responsibility, preparing individuals to learn, lead, and contribute meaningfully in a rapidly changing global landscape.
A core part of our mission is to connect scientific and academic communities in empowering socially vulnerable groups through education. By fostering dialogue between research and lived experience, HCISR promotes equity, participation, and social responsibility across disciplines and borders.
By connecting knowledge with ethics and lived human experience, HCISR fosters reflective learning that cultivates empathy, and a deeper understanding of the world we share.
